Our diamond engagement ring collection

Queensmith specialises in bespoke engagement rings that are made to order in our Hatton Garden workshop. From classic solitaire designs to contemporary diamond bands, intricate halos and romantic trilogy rings, every style can be tailored to reflect your story. We craft each ring in-house using ethically sourced natural or lab grown diamonds, and our diamond selection tool makes it easy to browse and choose the perfect stone for your design.

Our master goldsmiths and talented diamond setters meticulously craft each ring within 4 to 6 weeks, or in just 1 week with our Quickship collection. Every ring is inspected at each stage of the crafting process to ensure flawless craftsmanship, and our Lifetime Care Package is there to keep it sparkling long after the proposal. Order online or book a free consultation, in-store or virtually, and let’s bring your vision to life together.

Engagement Rings FAQs

The cost of an engagement ring varies depending on factors like diamond size, metal type and design. While the UK average is around £2,000, those in London and the South East typically spend between £3,500 and £6,500. You should spend however much you feel comfortable, bearing in mind that engagement rings start from around £1,625 with a 0.50ct lab grown diamond.

There’s no set amount you should spend – choosing how much to spend on an engagement ring is a very personal decision, and we’re here to help you find or create something meaningful within your budget. We also offer flexible payment options and 0% APR finance on purchases over £1,000, making it easier to find the perfect ring without compromise.

Choosing the right engagement ring depends on the individual preferences of you or your partner – whether you're selecting together or planning a surprise proposal. Consider various engagement ring styles, such as solitaire, halo, trilogy or diamond band rings, as well as ring metals, like platinum or 18k white, yellow or rose gold.

Think about diamond shape, size and whether a natural or lab grown diamond fits your preferences and values. You can also browse diamonds using our diamond search tool to filter by cut, clarity, carat and price.

If you're unsure where to begin, our experts can help you navigate every decision. Book a free consultation to explore engagement ring styles, learn more about diamond quality and design a ring that’s made to order and built to last.

You can also explore our Journal and Celebrity Engagement Rings to find inspiration before your appointment.

Yes, at Queensmith, we offer both natural and lab grown diamond rings. Around 70% of Queensmith couples choose a lab diamond for their engagement ring, for reasons of more transparent ethics, exquisite quality and lower cost per carat. Ultimately, you can expect a larger diamond for your budget when you choose a lab diamond, however there is still great demand for the rarity of natural diamonds.

Lab grown diamonds are real diamonds, chemically and visually identical to natural diamonds but grown using cutting-edge technology, rather than mined from the earth. They offer excellent value and are a more sustainable option, particularly if you choose a carbon neutral lab diamond from our Grown By Queensmith carbon neutral collection. Learn more about their similarities and differences in our guide: Lab Diamonds vs Natural Diamonds.

We ethically source all our diamonds, and whichever route you choose, our gemmologists will guide you through the differences, benefits and best options for your engagement ring.

If you're planning a surprise proposal, there are a few discreet ways to find your partner’s ring size. Start by checking any rings they already wear on their ring finger – ideally from their right hand if they don’t wear anything on the left. You could also ask close friends or family who’ve bought them jewellery before, or enlist a recently engaged friend to subtly get them to try on their ring.

For those ordering online, our printable ring size guide can help you measure a ring they already own. You can also ask for guidance during a free consultation – our experts are highly experienced in advising on ring size based on subtle cues.

If you have a photo of their hands and know their height and clothing size, our experts can make an educated estimate – it’s something we do regularly for surprise proposals. And don’t worry if the fit isn’t perfect: we offer free resizing within 60 days of collection or delivery.

Yes, helping you to design your own bespoke engagement ring is what we do best. Whether you have a clear idea in mind or need help bringing your vision to life, our expert team will guide you through every step of the bespoke design process.

It all starts with a free design consultation, either in-store at our Hatton Garden showroom or virtually. You'll collaborate with a dedicated jewellery designer to explore inspiration, refine your preferences and create something truly personal – from the diamond or gemstone to the setting style and metal type.

Your ring will then be designed, crafted and finished entirely in-house by our skilled team in Hatton Garden. The result is a one-of-a-kind piece, made just for you with expert craftsmanship and complete attention to detail.
