Selecting your band style and setting
Diamond bands can be set in a number of styles, the two most loved being scallop and pavé. A scallop set diamond band literally appears 'scalloped' when viewed from the sides, which floods the diamonds with light and sparkle. Styles like the Bardot Scallop are versatile, with the ability to choose from a number of diamond shapes. Pavé bands see the diamonds set with tiny ball claws, between two sides of metal, for a more vintage and traditional look, just like the Beaumont Pavé.
Find the perfect metal colour
Each design from our collection of diamond band engagement rings can be tailored made in your favourite metal colour. The most classic choice, platinum diamond band engagement rings offer a bright and lustrous metal to encourage the reflection of white light amongst each and every diamond, for an intense, continuous sparkle. You'll achieve a similar look with white gold diamond band engagement rings, but note that they will need re-plating every so often to keep the metal silvery-white.
Yellow gold diamond band engagement rings are charming, evoking the best worlds of traditional and contemporary design. Similarly, the warm hue of rose gold diamond band engagement rings offer character and edge.
Custom diamond band engagement rings
Although a simple design by nature, a diamond band engagement ring can be customised in a multitude of ways. Everything from the shape of your ring’s claws, to a taper in the band, and intricate embellishments like a hidden halo, diamond set spider or diamond set bridge. About Diamond Band Rings
What is a diamond band engagement ring?
A diamond band engagement ring, also known as a ring with ‘diamond shoulders’, is similar to the solitaire design, with the addition of small diamonds along the ring’s band. Diamond band engagement rings are a popular choice amongst those with contemporary and refined tastes.
What does 'diamond shoulders' mean when it comes to rings?
Diamond shoulders refers to the setting of small diamonds along the band of the ring - a style otherwise known as a 'diamond band engagement ring'. Think of the main diamond as the ‘head’, and the sides of the ring’s band as the ‘shoulders’.
What’s the difference between a solitaire ring and diamond band ring?
A solitaire ring features one, single diamond. A diamond band ring features one main diamond, with lots of little melee diamonds set along the band of the ring. Sometimes, this is referred to as ‘solitaire diamond band engagement rings’ - so to limit confusion, we call them ‘diamond band engagement rings’.
Designing A Diamond Band Ring
What setting styles can I choose for my ring’s diamond shoulders?
- Scallop
- Pavé
- Channel
- Flush or rubover
Pavé and scallop are the most loved setting styles for engagement rings with diamond bands. Pavé setting sees small, melee diamonds closely set side by side, held in place with tiny beads of metal, and a thin strip of metal either side of the diamonds. Scallop setting uses small, melee diamonds held in place with tiny claws and a ‘scalloped’, open sided edge.
Other setting styles for diamond band engagement rings include rubover or flush settings and channel settings. These are more unusual and can be a great choice for a unique ring.
Do you make thin diamond band engagement rings?
Yes we can create a thin band for your diamond band engagement ring, which can provide a really beautiful, refined look. Please be aware that there is a limit to how thin your diamond band can be, as the ring must retain strength and resist breakage - your dedicated design consultant will be happy to advise in greater detail. Book now to discuss with an expert.
Do the diamonds on my diamond band ring have to be round?
No, there are a number of diamond shapes you can choose for a custom diamond band ring, like emerald cut diamonds, baguette diamonds, princess cut diamonds, or even pear diamonds. Let your design consultant know which shapes you’re interested in, and they can advise you further - book you consultation here.
