Predicting Taylor Swift's Engagement Ring: How Did We Do?
Starting as a valued member of Queensmith's Production Department and transitioning to the Brand & Marketing team, Sarah creates all our social media content and is our go-to for the latest trends, style advice and celebrity culture.
With marriage rumours swirling and her romance with Travis Kelce still making headlines, all eyes are on what Taylor Swift’s engagement ring could look like. We’ve got a feeling that just like her collection of songs, Taylor's ring will be thoughtful, unique and meaningful.
From her love of symbolism to her penchant for vintage and whimsical style, our engagement ring experts and in-house gemmologists have put together three designs we believe could be the perfect fit. Here’s our expert prediction for Taylor Swift’s engagement ring.
Predicting the type of engagement ring Taylor Swift would want
Prediction 1: Emerald halo with 13 stones
When it comes to imagining her engagement ring, we couldn’t ignore Taylor Swift’s well-known love of emeralds – and her lucky number 13. This engagement ring would see a mesmerising 5–6 carat oval cut green emerald at the centre, surrounded by a halo of 13 round brilliant diamonds, on a yellow gold band. 13 is a significant number in her life – born on 13th December, turning 13 on Friday 13th, and she has been known to write the number '13' on her hand, so we can definitely imagine Travis Kelce incorporating this sentiment into Taylor's engagement ring.
It would be a beautiful nod to her personal story, combining her signature gemstone with a number that’s been a constant in her career and life. The emerald’s rich green tone brings depth and individuality – perfect for a singer-songwriter known for wearing her heart on her sleeve.
Coloured gemstone engagement rings have been growing in popularity among celebrities, and an emerald feels perfectly in tune with Taylor’s vibrant yet classic aesthetic. The 13 stone halo adds a personal, sentimental layer fans will adore.
Prediction 2: Antique asscher cut with art deco baguettes
For someone with as much love for storytelling as Taylor Swift, an antique diamond ring feels fitting. But we don’t think it would be as traditional as a classic solitaire ring with Taylor. We think whatever the current trends of engagement rings are, Travis Kelce will want to go in a different direction for his fiancé. We’re envisioning a 6–8 carat antique asscher cut diamond, claw set to emphasise its distinctive facets, flanked by baguette cut diamonds in a rubover setting.
The clean lines of the baguettes and the geometric shape of the asscher deliver that Art Deco energy – bold yet refined – while the antique cut gives it a one-of-a-kind feel, perfect for someone like Taylor Swift who thrives on individuality.
Antique diamond rings are full of history and character – exactly the kind of narrative-driven choice Taylor might make. The combination of claw and rubover settings adds depth and interest, with a nod to her vintage-inspired wardrobe.

Prediction 3: Whimsical oval cutdiamond with bespoke band
For our last engagement ring prediction, we could see Taylor Swift wearing a large, romantic oval cut diamond – but with a personal, whimsical twist. Inspired by our Bardot and Blondell ring designs, this concept features a 6 carat oval diamond set on an interwoven, twisted bespoke band that feels straight out of her Folklore era.
A slightly chunkier band than usual adds a modern edge while keeping the design soft and organic – perfect for someone whose artistry is steeped in both classic and contemporary influences.
Oval diamonds are a firm favourite among celebrities, just take a look at our blog on the 10 best oval celebrity engagement rings, but the twisted band and hidden details give this ring a story all of its own. Whimsical yet glamorous – much like Taylor Swift herself.
Is Taylor Swift engaged?
As of 26 August 2025, it’s official: Taylor Swift is engaged to Travis Kelce. And the engagement ring is every bit as captivating as expected.
Taylor’s engagement ring appears to be a vintage-inspired design, centred around an elongated cushion-shaped old mine cut diamond. The ring is set in a chunky 18k yellow gold band with a Georgian-style setting – similar to Zendaya's engagement ring from Tom Holland – featuring bezel set accent diamonds subtly worked into the band. The overall design is understated yet bold, echoing the antique aesthetic that’s becoming increasingly sought after in the celebrity engagement ring space.
The centre stone, an antique old mine cut diamond, is almost certainly natural. Our gemmologists estimate the diamond to be around 8 to 10 carats, with an approximate value of £500,000 to £600,000 ($670,000 to $800,000 USD), depending on its quality and provenance.
Were our predictions correct?
With its romantic silhouette and historic charm, the ring reflects everything we anticipated from a potential Taylor Swift engagement ring – deeply personal, rooted in narrative and style-defining. While it doesn’t feature her signature emerald or lucky number 13, it does align with Swift’s love of storytelling and vintage fashion, making it a highly symbolic and on-trend choice.
From the popularity of old cut diamonds to the growing preference for chunky yellow gold engagement rings, this proposal further cements the shift towards meaningful, characterful design in today’s bridal jewellery market. As we predicted, Swift’s ring isn’t just beautiful, it sets the tone for what’s next in bespoke, trend-setting engagement jewellery.
