So rings are our forte, but we have some opinions when it comes to the sweet stuff: here's our guide to the best wedding cake bakeries in London, from the fun and delightful to simple and chic.

1. Lily Vanilli

Described as London’s coolest baker and based in the ever so vibrant Columbia Rd the Lily Vanilli bakery has become an iconic fixture on the legendary London market - a now, baker to the stars. With the most Instagram-worthy of cupcakes and super cute decor you’ll find queue’s out the door most Sundays.

With rave reviews from some of the countries toughest critics, including but not limited to Vogue, The Independent, The Times and Harpers Bazaar, Lily has certainly taken the baking industry by storm, turning the humble rolling pin into the hottest of accessories.

Out-there, with a Rococo-Marie Antoinette edge, if whimsical is your style, you can’t go far wrong with one of Lily’s creations as centre piece on your big day.

2. Rosalind Miller

Master of both maximalism and minimalism, Rosalind Miller uses floral finesse throughout an otherwise diverse repertoire of wedding cake designs. From Graphic Design lecturer at Central Saint Martins College to master baker! Recommended supplier to some of the biggest names in London’s Hotelier industry including The Ritz, The Savoy, Claridge's and Four Seasons Park Lane to name but a few.

A Wedding cake by Rosalind truly is a sight to behold. Described as being at the forefront of wedding trends, her eye for detail in design won her the coveted title of ‘Best Wedding Cake Designer’ at the Wedding Industry Awards 2012 and 2013. If all that doesn’t tantalise your taste buds, I’m not sure what will!

3. Luminary Bakery

A bakery with a difference - this social enterprise based in Stoke Newington & Camden, supporting socially and economically disadvantaged women and empowering them to reach their potential. Using baking as a tool to build women's employability and entrepreneurship, Luminary is the perfect choice for those seeking a socially responsible wedding - plus, they're a dab-hand a beautiful cakes.

With a back catalogue of contemporary designs, Luminary Bakery will be a great fit for most modern tastes. Think the best of Pinterest's top wedding cake ideas - semi-naked sponges and carefully curated floral or fruit displays. Sublime!

4. Fondant Fox

Based in the East End of London, this fun and vibrant 'cake creative' promises to make you smile with their vast range of eclectic designs. 5. Neals Yard Dairy

Step in the cheese cake - not cheesecake - but a stack of delicious and delightful cheeses, the perfect melange of tastes for the non-sweet-toothed. We absolutely love the idea of this ultra modern and somewhat rustic alternative to the traditional wedding cake. Whilst the construction and decoration of the cake is entirely up to you, Neals Yard Dairy are happy to consult with you to help form the perfect seasonal cheese collaboration to suit you and your guests.

You'll have the opportunity to have a cheese tasting beforehand and for the creatives amongst us, it’s the ideal opportunity to add your design flair to your bespoke cheese tower. Plus, we have it on good authority that a post-dance floor cheese binge can be just what your guests will crave.

6. Little Bear Cakery

Clare from the Little Bear Bakery is famed for becoming South East London’s alternative cake decorator. Taking inspiration from a 'love of the 3 F’s... feathers, flora and fauna', Clare loves experimenting with different materials and textures to hand decorate her exquisite creations. Find a world of opportunity with bespoke wedding cakes to suit your taste and wedding aesthetic.

Minimalists, listen up: Little Bear Bakery is the perfect wedding cake creator for those that favour a simplistic look. Some of our favourite of Clare's designs include a plain, fondant cake, pinkish-white, topped with perfectly matching blushed-tone roses. A sculptural work of art!

7. Meringue Girls

Specialising in - you guessed it - meringues, Meringue Girls have an eye for sassy, punchy and stylish wedding treat designs. They'll work with your colour schemes, favourite flavours and bespoke ideas to create something personal, just for you. Collaborating with Fondant Fox to deliver the full cake, the Meringue Girls also have options for meringue-only displays, tier-style extravaganzas or favour boxes.

It all started with a love of meringue in East London’s famous food market- Broadway Market. You’ll be spoilt for choice with options ranging from rainbow meringue tiered Wedding cakes to a whole sweet table or high tea. We adore the idea of sending guests away with little nuggets of sweet treat wedding favours, created with swirls of colours picked from your wedding bouquet or colour scheme!

8. Bee's Bakery

Vegans listen up - your search for the best plant based wedding cake ends here. Plus, all of Bee's cakes are available gluten free - with absolutely no compromise needed when it comes to taste and stunning aesthetics. Dive into Bee's options of sumptuous flavours created with 'UK grown (not flown) edible flowers and leaves'.
