Queensmith Loves | The Laslett
The Laslett is a stylish hotel, drawing design inspiration from British art and Notting Hill's effervescent vibes. The perfect London hotel for any culture vultures.
The 5 Townhouses
Creative types, antiques lovers and stylish Londoners have been flocking to Notting Hill for decades, which is why the Living Rooms collection of hotels decided to locate their first standalone hotel in the highly desirable neighbourhood of Pembridge Gardens, a stone’s throw from Notting Hill Gate. Inspired by its creative surroundings, The Laslett is extremely design conscious, as styled by creative director Ben Kelway, who works largely within the fashion industry. As they so perfectly put it themselves, the house ‘elegantly combines the service of a hotel with the style, comfort and space of a residential home.’ The property is deceivingly large, with 51 rooms located in 5 interconnected townhouses. And who doesn’t love a traditional London, white-walled townhouse? Along with all the usual amenities, the hotel also boasts a private gym, in-room spa treatments and, of course, room service from the in-house Henderson Bar and Coffee Shop.
Notting Hill Vibes
The Laslett strives to ‘showcase artists deeply involved in the West London and Notting Hill art scene’, and is only a 2 minute walk from the renowned Notting Hill Arts Club - the perfect destination for all you culture vultures. As the Telegraph put it: 'Expect creative 'Westies' in the bar, and food, artworks and décor supplied largely by local, frequently famous, talent.' The Laslett is proud to be inspired by local culture and British style. And we’re big fans of the local culture - of course, there’s a lot to see and do on a trip to London, but when you’re based in Notting Hill you don’t have to travel too far to have a good time. Kensington Palace is less than a 15 minute walk away, and the antique, artistic and sartorial delights of Portobello Road Market a 15 minute walk in the opposite direction, with copious amounts of restaurants in between.
Back inside The Laslett, dine away on British plates and seasonal ingredients all day long, in the intimate spaces of the bar, library or lobby, and nibble on Neal's Dairy cheese and charcuterie by Cannon & Cannon. Sounds blissful. And, of course, The Henderson bar offers the finest cocktails to toast the night, either inside the cosy bar or out on the charming terrace.
