Queensmith Loves | Peggy Porschen
The namesake behind the highly-Instagrammed cafe, Peggy, grew up in Cologne with longstanding intentions to become a cake designer. After completing a course at Le Cordon Bleu, Peggy held down a number of jobs as a pastry chef in some of Londons most prestigious establishments, eventually opening her Belgravia cafe, Peggy Porschen, in 2003.
Baker To The Stars
With a range of freshly baked goods from tiered cakes to cookies and cupcakes, Peggy proudly serves her own blend of teas alongside the sweet treats. With a talented team at the helm of the cafe, each creation is filled with the company’s celebration of craftsmanship, romance and femininity - each creation is visually stunning. The client list including Kate Moss, Elton John, Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow, it’s easy to see why Londoners and travellers from further afield are flocking to Peggy Porschen. If you don’t believe us that Peggy Porschen could be London’s best baker, believe TimeOut who ranked their banoffee cupcake the number 1 best cupcake in London.
The parlour, located on Ebury street, Belgravia, is always dressed to the nines, as according to the company ethos to ooze romance and femininity. Whatever the season or the occasion, hoards of themed, whimsical flowers always adorn the doorway. Against the baby pink exterior of the cafe, the vivacious flowers are perhaps one reason why the cafe has become one of London’s most Instagram-worthy locations. This Valentine’s Day and throughout February, a love heart arch of roses framed the door, with heart-shaped floral bouquets popping out of each window. The 2017 Christmas display was a dream in frosted pastel snowflakes, baubles and flowers. We can’t wait to see what delights Spring holds in store!
Great news - Peggy Porschen Cakes is open daily from 8am until 8pm, so you can get your cake-fill pre and post-work, and all weekend long. They also run masterclasses and diploma classes at the Peggy Porschen Academy, so everyone can test their cake making abilities. Check the website for more info.
